To continue in the CORRECTIONS DEPUTY process, you must have already completed an on-line application through Shelby County Government's job link: https://jobs.shelbycountytn.gov.

You must pay close attention to the following requirements which are MANDATORY for you to continue in the CORRECTIONS DEPUTY application process:

YOU MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE WHEN YOU APPLY FOR THIS POSITION.
YOU MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED.
YOU MUST HAVE NO FELONY CONVICTIONS.
YOU MUST BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES OR A PERMANENT LEGAL RESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WHO IS AN HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERAN OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES PURSUANT TO §38-8-105(d).
YOU MUST POSSESS A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
YOU MUST HAVE AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE FROM ANY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES (IF APPLICABLE).

YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR AN AVAILABLE TIME SLOT TO TAKE THE PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST.
PHYSICAL AGILITY TEST SCHEDULING DATES

Monday, 03/31/2025 thru Friday, 4/4/2025

The Physical Agility Test will take approximately 2 hours; you must wear comfortable work-out attire; and, it will consist of the following activities: Broad Jump, Sit-Ups, Push-Ups, Trunk Flex, Dummy Drag & One Mile Run.

NOTE: If you do not schedule yourself for the Physical Agility Test and/or fail to make your appointment for the Physical Agility Test, you will have disqualified yourself from this Corrections Deputy application process. YOU MUST BE ON TIME - PHYSICAL AGILITY TESTING DATES & TIMES WILL NOT BE RESCHEDULED.
